Statement of Faith
God
We believe in one God—Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. With limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and make all things new for His glory.
The Bible
We believe that God has spoken through the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, as the verbally inspired Word of God. It is without error in the original writings and is the complete revelation of His will for salvation. The Bible is the final authority for faith, life, and every sphere of human endeavor. Therefore, it must be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it commands, and trusted in all that it promises.
The Human Condition
We believe that humanity was created in God’s image but fell into sin through Adam’s disobedience. Every person is, therefore, a sinner by nature and by choice, alienated from God and under His just wrath. Only through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled, and renewed.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the promised Messiah, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and now reigns as our High Priest and Advocate at the right hand of the Father.
The Work of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ, as our representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect and all-sufficient sacrifice for sin. His atoning death and victorious resurrection are the only grounds for salvation.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit glorifies Christ in all He does. He convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, and baptizes them into union with Christ. He indwells, guides, equips, and empowers believers for Christlike living and effective service.
The Church
We believe that the true Church comprises all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ, of which Jesus is the Head. The Church is manifested in local congregations where believers gather for worship, teaching, fellowship, and the observance of baptism and the Lord’s Supper—symbols of the gospel, not means of salvation.
Christian Living
We believe that God’s justifying grace must be accompanied by His sanctifying power. Believers are called to love God and others, care for the marginalized, and live as witnesses to Christ through both word and action. Empowered by God’s Word, the Holy Spirit, and prayer, we are to resist evil and fulfill Christ’s Great Commission.
Christ’s Return
We believe in the personal, bodily, and glorious return of Jesus Christ. His return, at a time known only to God, is our blessed hope and should motivate believers to holy living, faithful service, and global mission.
Response and Eternal Destiny
We believe that God calls all people everywhere to repent and believe in the gospel. God will raise the dead and judge the world—assigning unbelievers to eternal separation and conscious punishment and believers to eternal joy in the presence of God in the new heaven and new earth. To God be the glory forever. Amen.
