Ernie and Cindy Mecca, along with John and Stacy Girard, have dedicated decades to sports ministry. Ernie coached high school sports in Wyoming for 34 years, while the Girard’s coached at various levels in Nebraska for 15 years, ranging from youth sports to collegiate teams. Drawing on these experiences, we understand the unique challenges coaches and their families face. Balancing Faith, Family, and Coaching requires focus, determination, and discipline—but ultimately, this balance is possible only through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our vision is to create a retreat designed for couples involved in sports and sports ministry. At this retreat, you’ll have the opportunity to experience God’s love, deepen your relationship with Jesus, and prioritize your marriage, family, and Kingdom roles. This is not a marriage conference or seminar; rather, it’s an intimate and intentional space to “withdraw” from daily busyness and responsibilities to reconnect with the Savior. With only four coaching couples invited, the retreat offers a truly personal experience.

It’s important to have a common language when communicating with your spouse. This tool helps both of you discover how God uniquely hardwired you and highlights when you’re operating at your best. After taking the assessment and participating in the training during the retreat, you and your spouse will understand each other on a deeper level. We’re confident it will be a tremendous blessing to your marriage.
