WE TRAIN COACHES AND ATHLETES TO COMPETE BIBLICALLY

Healing Power

Aaron Judge has demonstrated tremendous power since his MLB debut in 2016, including hitting a home run in his first career at bat. He went on to a record-breaking rookie season and was named an All-Star and won the Home Run Derby. Large crowds came out to watch him fill the bleachers with home runs during batting practice. Judge is 6-foot-7 and 282 pounds, and the ball leaves his bat with amazing velocity! Yankees manager Joe Girardi said of his 429-foot shot, “It was a line drive. That is how far his line drives go. They are different than other line drives.”

Matthew 8 – Eternal Wholeness

The power of Jesus Christ to perform miracles dwarfs the power of Aaron Judge. When He healed people of diseases (the effects of sin), He showed His competence to remove sin itself, for sin is the ultimate cause of all suffering in the world. Matthew 8 records three miracles of healing that demonstrated Jesus’ power.

The enemies of Jesus never questioned the authenticity of His miracles. After all, hundreds (maybe thousands) of people walked around who could now see, hear, and walk. They were free of demonic possession who formerly were blind, deaf, handicapped, and demon-possessed! No one could deny His power to heal. Complete healing power is by the power of the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to deliver us from the power of the devil.

John MacArthur writes: “In eternity, all sickness will be removed, so ultimately, healing is included in the benefits of the atonement.” We should not presume that all our sicknesses will be cured in this current age. Only in the eternal state will Christ’s work be fully applied and disease be gone. Still, we should continue to pray for the sick, recognizing that God may bring healing if we ask in faith and trust in His good purposes.

The Kingdom Coach and Athlete live their lives believing the Lord is for them, not against them. He is full of compassion and power, capable of helping them with whatever they’re struggling with.
