Promised Return
Every year, it’s common for many athletes to suffer a season-ending injury. Nebraska’s four-star freshman tight end, Thomas Fidone, hurt his knee during spring practice, which required surgery and made it likely he would miss the 2021 season. He later tweeted, “I will be back. Bigger, faster, and stronger! I can promise you that! Every setback is set to have a major comeback!”
Malachi 4 – Hell or Heaven?
Malachi shares the hope we have today for Jesus’ promised return. Chapter 4 shows us two prophesied images of fire. The first depicts a refining fire to purify His people. The second represents a destroying fire, symbolizing the final judgment of the wicked when Jesus returns to claim His followers.
Some believers become discouraged because times are tough, and their efforts seem unappreciated. The day will come when God rewards those who stay faithful. God will have the final say. It will be either salvation or judgment. Which will you choose?
The Kingdom Coach and Athlete choose salvation over judgment. They look forward to going home, confident that God will reward His faithful servants.
Bible Memory Verse – “For behold, ‘the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every worker of wickedness will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them aflame,’ says Yahweh of hosts, ‘so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.’” Malachi 4:1 (LSB)
