Fixing the Problem
Being a Christian is not an ego trip. Former NBA basketball coach Paul Westphal said, “A lot of people accuse Christians of claiming salvation and then thinking that makes them better than somebody else. You know, it’s actually just the opposite. We simply know we have a sin problem, and we know who can fix it.”
Matthew 27 – Problem Solved
Jesus Christ fixed our sin problem during six hours one Friday 2,000 years ago. At noon, three hours of darkness descended upon the earth when God supernaturally turned out the lights on the world. Around 3 p.m., Jesus’ greatest suffering was realized. He who knew no sin became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). God the Father poured out all His Holy wrath upon Him without coming to his aid.
Jesus is the only way to get to God. If you want to be saved from your own sins for all eternity, you must approach God through Jesus. Mohammed is not sufficient. Neither is Buddha, Confucius, or any other religious leader. None died for your sin, nor would they have qualified, for all were sinners themselves! As 1 Timothy 2:5 says, “There is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time.” Do you believe Him?
The Kingdom Coach and Athlete place their faith and trust in the one mediator, Jesus Christ. Jesus paid their ransom to free them from sin, death, and hell. Because of His sacrificial death, they have the opportunity to accept that gift of atonement and be forgiven by God. For without His death, God’s Law would still need to be satisfied—by our own death.

Bible Memory Verse –
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to keep all that I commanded you: and behold I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 LSB
