WE TRAIN COACHES AND ATHLETES TO COMPETE BIBLICALLY

God’s Promotion

The St. Louis Rams began 1999 with the worst record of the 1990s. Their quarterback, Kurt Warner, had worked the night shift stocking shelves at a supermarket only five years earlier. Yet, he led the team to victory in the Super Bowl! “I believe the Lord has a plan for each of us that’s better than anything we can imagine—even if that plan isn’t obvious to us at every stage,” Warner said. “He prepared me for this over a long period—in lower-profile locker rooms and the grocery store and Europe, though, all the personal tragedies and despite the people who doubted me all the way!”

Genesis 41 – God’s Timing

Two years after Joseph helped the cupbearer in prison, God was ready to promote Joseph. He sent two dreams to Pharaoh. None of Egypt’s magicians could interpret them, for they came from God. Finally, the cupbearer remembered Joseph and his ability to interpret dreams. Joseph gave glory to God as the revealer of dreams.

Pharaoh rewarded Joseph, placing him in second command of Egypt, the most powerful nation. Despite temptation, suffering, and paganism, Joseph never abandoned a Godly worldview. The prison had become a fast track to power. He was a man of integrity whose head could not be turned by pride or prosperity. God put Joseph in a position where he would protect and provide for God’s covenant people.

The Kingdom Coach and Athlete come through hard times with the kind of attitude Joseph had, burying past misfortunes and celebrating in present blessings, being “forgetful.”

Bible Memory Verse – “And Yahweh was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian. Now his master saw that Yahweh was with him and how Yahweh caused all that he did to succeed in his hand.” Genesis 39:2-3 (LSB)
