WE TRAIN COACHES AND ATHLETES TO COMPETE BIBLICALLY

Higher Purposes

At the height of her fame and fortune, Chris Evert was unsatisfied and searching for a higher purpose. She had 146 tennis championships and married John Lloyd, but she said, “We get into a rut. We play tennis, go to a movie, and watch TV, but I keep saying, ‘John, there has to be more!”

Genesis 50-Exodus 1 – We Have Limited Vision

God has a higher purpose for His world than we often recognize. Most people see only a tiny part of their lives as a total picture, but God sees the end from the beginning. He is absolutely sovereign, which means He causes or allows all things to happen. The sovereignty of the Heavenly Father comforts His children in the most adverse circumstances.

Languishing under a massive sense of guilt for selling him into slavery, Joseph’s brothers feared he would take revenge upon them once their father died. But Joseph was gracious and had a greater view of God’s sovereign plan. He wept over their mistrust and/or genuine repentance and forgave them completely. God had saved the world from starvation through his suffering. The dream of his brothers falling before him was again fulfilled!

The Kingdom Coach and Athlete credit God for everything that happens. They recognize that God can bring good out of evil to fulfill His purposes in people’s lives. “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive as they are today.

Bible Memory Verse – “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to do what has happened on this day, to keep many people alive.” Genesis 50:20 (LSB)
