Spiritual X-Ray
Sports injuries are a problem almost every athlete will face, even bringing a lifetime of pain. Many top athletes have left their college or professional careers because of sports injuries. Medical imaging technology is used to complete the clinical diagnosis of sports injuries. The commonly used medical imaging technology is ultrasound, X-ray image technology, CT technology, and MRI technology. Medical imaging technology analyzes an athlete’s condition and recommends follow-up treatment and prevention.
Revelation 2 – Reboot
In Chapters 2 and 3, John gave seven messages to the churches in Asia Minor (present-day Turkey). Each of them received an “X-ray” of their spiritual condition. It’s essential to remember that John intended all churches to read and benefit from these messages. The Lord was also speaking to individuals in those churches as well. “He who has an ear, let him hear” (2:17).
What happens to coaches or athletes who burn out? In each case, frustrated athletes or coaches lose their passion for the sport, and every drill or practice becomes an unbearable burden. This is how many believers feel about their faith. Revelation 2:1-7 teaches the great commandment matters the most to God. Each of us has an obligation to love God wholeheartedly (Matthew 22:36-38).
In 2:1-7, after charging the Ephesians with abandoning their first love, Jesus points toward three ways to reestablish their spiritual condition—remember, repent, and repeat (2:5). The Greek word translated “repent” means a genuine change of heart and mind.
The Kingdom Coach and Athlete remind themselves of what Christ has done for them and repent when they have a poor attitude. This change is a complete renewal of attitudes that lead to the right behavior.
