Former Louisiana State University baseball coach Skip Bertman lost all his memorabilia from his great career in a 2003 house fire. Bertman’s teams won five national championships. During his 18 years at LSU, he became the Tigers’ all-time winningest coach. Skip’s wife reported that his pictures, books, and tapes were gone. He has only memories left.

One day, God will remove all material things admired by men and judge the Godless pursuit of wealth! Our worst stock market crash will seem minuscule when God judges a world business system with no time for Him. The entire financial world will go from cash to crash in one hour!

Revelation 18 – Jesus Instructs His People

In chapter 17, Babylon represented a religious harlot, destroyed in the middle of the seven-year Tribulation period. In chapter 18, Babylon represents a commercial city suddenly destroyed at the end of the same period. This wealthy city was sinful in the face of God. Jesus directs His people to separate themselves from this world system (v. 4). He will act as our Avenger! He tells us to judge our own sin in preparation for His coming (1 Corinthians 11:31- 32). We must place no trust in stocks, bonds, real estate, or any other investments on earth!
