Temporarily Concealed
In 1979, Cubs outfielder Larry Bittner made a lunging dive at a ball hit by Bruce Boisclair of the Mets. He trapped the ball, but not in his glove! In a frantic search, Bittner picked up his cap—which had fallen off his head—and saw the ball concealed underneath it! He grabbed the ball just in time to nail Boisclair at third!
Matthew 12 – The Hope For All Nations
Matthew 12 details the growing conflict between Jesus and the religious leaders. Jesus’ temporary concealment as King fit His purpose as the Messiah. He knew the hypocritical religious leaders of Israel were plotting to kill Him. In God’s plan, it was not His appointed time to die, so He quietly left the area. Many people followed Him. Jesus mercifully healed all the sick who came to Him but warned them not to tell who He was, which would invite more opposition.
Jesus was and is the hope of all nations for final justice and peace. He is also the personal hope of millions for joy, fulfillment, purpose, and salvation. He alone makes life worth living for multitudes of people. He is our hope, our peace, our everything.
The Kingdom Coach and Athlete safely rest and trust in Jesus, knowing He has both the power and the will to help us in our troubles. He is our Rock, the only foundation for a solid, meaningful life.
