The Beast
It’s probably unsurprising that someone was named “The Beast” in professional wrestling. Yvon Cormier is perhaps the most famous wrestler with that nickname. He and his three wrestling brothers made up the Cormier wrestling family. During his career, he wrestled seven world champions, including six-time limit draws. He was known for his physical strength and intense exercise routine. He could bench press 450 pounds with ease in the 1960s and was once recorded as bench pressing 527 pounds. According to one story, when he got upset at a horse, he knocked it down with one punch!
Revelation 13 – An Evil Trinity
John continues to describe the conflict that began in chapter 12 and its escalation in Revelation 13. This includes the dragon on Earth plus two other evil forces: the beast of the sea and the beast of the Earth. The symbolic image of “The Beast” made sense for Yvon Cormier but is the perfect image for John’s vision in chapter 13. His vision shows Satan and his two beasts as an evil trinity that tries to deceive the earth’s people by leading them away from the one true God.
This powerful empire will be Satan’s last and most extraordinary attempt to stop the rule of Christ. Unlike all other attempts by Satan to stop God’s purposes, it will ultimately fail.
The Kingdom Coach and Athlete believe God is faithful to His Word. While they realize there will be conflict, they trust God to bring justice and redeem the world.
Bible Memory Verse – And I [John] heard a voice from heaven, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder, and the voice which I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps. Revelation 14:2 (LSB)
