Turning Point
In 1993, the NFL witnessed a historic turning point during a game between the Houston Oilers and the Buffalo Bills. With the Oilers comfortably ahead 35-3 late in the third quarter, backup quarterback Frank Reich orchestrated an astonishing comeback, scoring five consecutive touchdowns. This remarkable shift in momentum propelled the Bills to an overtime victory, securing a 41-38 win that would be remembered as one of the league’s greatest turning points.
Acts 9 – Spreading the Gospel
Similarly, the early Christian church experienced a pivotal moment with the conversion of Saul in Acts 9. Formerly a zealous persecutor of Jewish followers of Jesus, Saul underwent a profound transformation after encountering Christ. Adopting the name Paul, he emerged as a key figure in the burgeoning church, forsaking his previous mission to persecute believers and instead becoming one of its most influential leaders.
Paul’s missionary journeys across the Roman Empire played a crucial role in spreading the gospel beyond Jewish communities, reaching out to Gentiles, and fostering the growth of Christianity among non-Jewish populations. His conversion marked a decisive shift in the trajectory of the early church, leading to widespread acceptance of the gospel among diverse cultural and religious groups.
The Kingdom Coach and Athlete use their testimony like the Apostle Paul to tell others how God raised them from spiritual death to eternal life through the good news of Christ. They realize their own story is powerful and needs to be made public.
