The Green Bay Packers took steps to help fans access Lambeau Field during the 2020 pandemic season. Lambeau Field remained mostly empty that season. In December, the Packers finally allowed fans to attend games. With strict masking and social distancing protocols in place, 12,000 fans could enter the stadium.

Exodus 26–27 – Veil Torn

In Exodus 26–27, people are separated from God’s presence. The veil of the Tabernacle, described in Exodus 26:31–35, separated the ark of the covenant and God’s mercy seat from the rest of the Tabernacle. It was a powerful reminder that sinful people could not simply enter the presence of a holy God.

That’s why it’s significant that when Jesus died on the cross, the veil was torn in two (Luke 23:45). Jesus’ sacrifice removed the barrier and made it possible for all who trust in Him to access God.

The cross of Jesus Christ is our “altar” of sacrifice. Jesus’ shed blood took care of our sin problem once and for all (Hebrews 9:25–28). There is no ticket to purchase, no capacity limit, and no place in line you have to earn. Jesus paid the price. The veil has been torn. The way has been opened.

Don’t take the privilege of God’s presence for granted. Jesus opened the way—draw near to Him.
