Every professional team uses some type of contract or agreement with its athletes and coaches. In 2020, Patrick Mahomes signed the largest contract in U.S. sports history, worth $503 million. The 24-year-old quarterback led the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl win, and the agreement guarantees him $477 million with no-trade clauses.

Exodus 34-36 – Second Chance

God made a solemn agreement (covenant) with Israel (Exodus 19:3-11). After Israel broke His laws and suffered several consequences, the Lord renewed His covenant. God even promised to drive out the wicked nations living on the land He promised to Israel.

The immorality of people living in Canaan was unbelievable. Venereal diseases were rampant. Idolatry was unchecked. The nations had 400 years to repent, while Israel suffered in Egyptian slavery. But they refused the God of the Universe, and judgment was due. God instructed Moses to bring two new stone tablets to Mt. Sinai (Exodus 34:4). These replaced the ones written by the “finger of God,” which Moses had broken when Israel worshipped the golden calf. Moses spent another 40 days with God on the mountain. God declared His name and nature, and Moses worshiped Him.
